This lens is also very cheap it can be used for telephoto purposes & it includes image stabilization (IS), you will love the lens if you are always using normal angle lenses because this is an ultra widely angle lens & you will be impressed by its results, actually if you want to capture some portrait photos or you want to blur the background this lens will not be your choice as the maximum aperture is 4.5 at 10 mm & 5.6 at 18 mm,

Ehab, what a great article and review of some of Canon’s most popular and less expensive lenses. The image examples are excellent. We are looking for a small lens like the 50mm f/1.8 but they seem to be around £900 in the UK where we live.
Considering the one your reviewed at just over a hundred dollars, you’ve taken a fine picture of water with it!
The 75-300 shows a bit of chromatic aberration but for the price shown, that can be forgiven.
This is a very useful review of some of the cheaper Canon lenses and we thank you for taking the trouble to go through them all. Ches

I am not a professional or semi-pro photographer but I am drawn with the items you explained here.
Is it just me or it’s a norm that lens which you state for the beginners are expensive? That’s what I notice as I look at the price.
Honestly, all the photos are great I must say. It makes me deduced that all lens are on par and difficult to separate in terms of quality.
Actually, Tar those are the cheapest, for the starter(beginner) photographer he can continue using the kit lens that comes with the camera body till he knows some rules about photography & then he can upgrade his lens.
I can’t believe how far cameras have come! Looking at those photos is better than seeing them in real life. Its alot like those 4k tv’s they got now. I remember when I first saw one, I was stuck on stupid for like 25min.lol I just wish I could buy one just for personal use for when I go hiking or something. Are there any hard cases to protect the equipment?

Hi Ehab, this is a cool site, showing image samples related to each lens is a must. Lenses are expensive and I would need to be sure before investing. I have a Nikon camera, I wanted a different lens with a nice zoom and finally went for a Sigma lens which was more affordable for a beginner like me. Luckily I had done some research before. By the way, there is a small spelling mistake in your second menu where the “H” between the “G” & “R” should be removed. Keep up the good work Ehab 🙂

Hi, I’ve been looking into switchng to a more professional lens recently ( other than the factory supplied option ) but I’m a little stuck on the price overall. What is your opinion on second hand or maybe reconditioned lenses? Do you feel it is a risk to purchase one? Also, do you know of any places online that provide this service?
Hi Chris, No problem you can get third party lenses like sigma or tamron, & all can be found on Amazon.com, i already have Sigma 24-70 mm Canon mount, & soon i will make a review for best sigma lenses (canon mount), thanks for passing by.
Nice site with lots of good information about lenses. You would be able to give people a better experience if you added the price that amazon quotes – for example: $299.00 with free shipping. Let them know the pricing so they can know if it fits their budget.
