Free Digital Photography Cheat Sheets

Written by

You can learn the basics of digital photography, save some useful tips and camera settings for quick reference, and refresh your knowledge about any particular photography subject by using cheat sheets. A cheat sheet or crib sheet is by definition a concise set of notes used for quick reference. Cheat sheets are so named because they may be used by students without the instructor’s knowledge to cheat on a test.

In this post, I gathered a large collection of some noteworthy cheat sheets, and infographics, for photographers. From shooting basics to camera setting and modes tips, the most common aspect of photography is covered in this roundup. Whether you’re an amateur or an experienced professional, I hope you can find some really helpful resources, all presented as easy-to-read checklists, infographics, and downloadable cheat sheets for your benefit.

  • Photography is not simple. It does not just take a camera and take a picture. It has more behind it. Usually, I see videos or phones on Instagram, I try to take the same picture but it never works. Now, after some research, I have found the right answer to your post. After reading it a couple of days ago, I started following the tips and getting better results. I feel great when taking pictures, the most helpful one was the Hard vs soft light cheat sheet, it helps me to understand the light angles to get clear pictures.

You have shared useful information and I’m amazed by everything here. I will keep practicing my skill with your tips and share my results on your post.

    Thanks for sharing.

    • Hi Andres

  • There are so many settings on our cameras these days that it can be hard to know where to make adjustments for the best looking photos. A photo cheat sheet is a great way to quickly reference the big “dials” that are available to change so that you can save time and make sure to catch the next great shot!

Cell phone cameras have been great in that they are frequently nearby when I want to take a photo. However, the camera app I use doesn’t have a spot meter and I struggle to get the right exposures that I want without that feature. Do you have any tips to overcome this issue, or do you have favorite apps for cell phone cameras to achieve pro results?

    • Hi Aly

      Thanks for your comment

As for your question about the cell phone camera, unfortunately, I am a DSLR guy and I don’t use a cell phone camera, so I am not able to answer your question, Sorry!
